Time and space.  Why is it so obvious in hindsight? Similar to his paintings of haystacks and water lilies, Monet spent a lot of time thinking about light and reflections and space. A lot of time, like his whole life. So, from the above viewpoint made when he was a young lad of 28, we get, after 30 years of looking and thinking about light and space, the following:
